Basketball Recap: Taft Starts Season with Win Against Sherman Oaks CES

Taft had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 67-56 win over the Sherman Oaks CES Knights. That's more bragging rights for the Toreadors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

When it comes to explaining why Sherman Oaks CES lost, don't look at Andre O'Daniel. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine assists. O'Daniel's big performance that afternoon made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 23 points. Diego Robles was another key player, putting up 11 points and four steals.

Looking ahead, Taft will challenge Notre Dame (SO) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sherman Oaks CES, they will take on Gardena at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
