Basketball Game Preview: Kapaun Mt. Carmel Crusaders vs. South Titans

Kapaun Mt. Carmel is 9-1 against South since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Kapaun Mt. Carmel Crusaders will be playing at home against the South Titans at 7:00 p.m. Kapaun Mt. Carmel knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully South likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Kapaun Mt. Carmel blew past Southeast, posting an 82-48 victory. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Corbin Johnson was his usual excellent self, going 14 for 19 on his way to 34 points and seven rebounds. The game was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Rocco Keller was another key player, going 7 of 10 en route to 16 points and five boards.

Kapaun Mt. Carmel was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southeast only racked up 12 assists.

Meanwhile, South and Northwest faced off in a cross-town battle on Tuesday. South was beaten by Northwest 66-29. The loss continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now lost five in a row.

Kapaun Mt. Carmel is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.8 points. As for South, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Everything came up roses for Kapaun Mt. Carmel against South when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 61-28 win. Will Kapaun Mt. Carmel repeat their success, or does South have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
