Softball Preview: Winton Woods Warriors vs. Middletown Christian Eagles
The Winton Woods Warriors are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the Middletown Christian Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Winton Woods is leaving town to face Middletown Christian after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Warriors came up short against West Clermont on Monday, falling 16-1. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 17 in a row.
Winton Woods saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amena Greene, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Middletown Christian took on Aiken on Tuesday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over the Falcons. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Riley White made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. White was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her eight plate appearances.
In other batting news, Middletown Christian got a massive performance out of Karsyn Meier, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in five of her nine plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Allyana Tobler, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.
