Recap: Valley Mills Eagles vs. Rio Vista Eagles
The Valley Mills Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 68-32 loss at the hands of Rio Vista. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Valley Mills of the 64-36 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture on January 12th.
Rio Vista got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Blaine Briscoe out in front who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Briscoe has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Shamar Richburg, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Valley Mills has been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season. As for Rio Vista, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-12.
Valley Mills will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hamilton is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Rio Vista, they will head out on the road to challenge the Polar Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
