Flag Football Recap: Huntley Red Raiders vs. Antioch Sequoits
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Huntley can now relate to. They came up short against the Antioch Sequoits on Tuesday, falling 27-6. Having soared to a lofty 33 points in the game before, the Red Raiders couldn't push the score so high this time.
Despite the loss, Huntley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Evelyn Freundt picked up 142 receiving yards and one touchdown. Lyla Ginczycki was another key player, having thrown for 257 yards and onetouchdown.
Huntley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Aubrina Adamik was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by herself.
Antioch's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abbigail Fuesting, who rushed for 99 yards and one TD, and also picked up 64 receiving yards and one score. Tanner Ludwig was another key passer, throwing for 276 yards and three touchdowns.
