It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Torres had no problem doing just that on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Caruthers Blue Raiders a 7-0 shutout. The Toros not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15th (when they won 10-2).

Matthew Escoto made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Torres is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-17 otherwise. Escoto was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
