Millard North dropped down to 19-6 on Monday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Westview Wolverines by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Mustangs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Millard North got a good showing from Major Mosser, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the first time Mosser hasn't allowed a single earned run since back in March.

At the plate, Jackson Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

As for Westview, they pushed their record up to 18-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

On Westview's side, Landen Bader spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits. Bader has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mitchell Piatt was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Coming up, Millard North will challenge Omaha Westside at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Westview, they will square off against Papillion-LaVista South at 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The Titans will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
