Basketball Recap: 12 Straight Road Wins for Jayton

Jayton entered their tilt with Aspermont on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Aspermont Hornets 62-29. Given the Jaybirds' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 324th, while the Hornets are ranked 1157th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jayton pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points per game. As for Aspermont, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Jayton and Aspermont will both be playing Hamlin the next time they take the court. Jayton will host Hamlin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Aspermont will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
