Preview: Cy-Fair Bobcats vs. North Shore Mustangs
Cy-Fair has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the North Shore Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Cy-Fair: 17.8, North Shore: 14.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
With a playoff game on the line, Cy-Fair rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 28-21 victory over the Tigers.
Cy-Fair's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trey Owens, who threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns. Connor Porter was another key contributor, picking up 110 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, North Shore put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 49-21 victory over Clear Springs. The result was nothing new for North Shore, who have now won ten games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Cy-Fair has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 11-1 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.8 points per game. As for North Shore, their victory bumped their record up to 12-0.
Things could have been worse for Cy-Fair, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 38-21 loss to North Shore in their previous matchup back in December of 2018. Can Cy-Fair avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
