Basketball Recap: Joshua Springs Christian Takes a Loss

Joshua Springs Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Palm Valley FIREBIRDS 64-13. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lightning this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-15 back in December of 2024.

Palm Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Deshawn Tunmore out in front who went 13 of 20 on his way to 29 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Matteo Lam was another key player, going 9 for 18 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven assists and six steals.

Joshua Springs Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Palm Valley, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Joshua Springs Christian will venture away from home to take on Noli Indian at 3:15 p.m. on January 16th. Palm Valley has already played their next contest, a 48-36 defeat against Desert Chapel on the 9th.
