Volleyball Game Preview: Timpanogos Timberwolves vs. Payson Lions

The Timpanogos Timberwolves will challenge the Payson Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Timpanogos will be strutting in after a win while Payson will be coming in after a defeat.

Timpanogos took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Mountain View, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Timberwolves came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bruins on Thursday, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Timberwolves have posted since May 10, 2024.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Payson faced off against Orem on Thursday. The Lions lost 3-0 to the Tigers. The Lions have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

While Payson was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Orem's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-14, 25-17.

Payson's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Timpanogos, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 7-8.
