Basketball Game Preview: Orrick Bearcats vs. Lathrop Mules

The Orrick Bearcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Lathrop Mules at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lathrop took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Orrick, who comes in off a win.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Orrick and Sweet Springs, and Orrick kept the tradition alive. The Bearcats came out on top against the Greyhounds by a score of 49-39 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Lathrop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 73-23 defeat at the hands of Penney. The matchup marked the Mules' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Orrick is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points on average over those games. As for Lathrop, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Orrick might still be hurting after the 71-49 defeat they got from Lathrop in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can the Bearcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
