Soccer Recap: Hesperia Comes Up Short

Hesperia lost against Arroyo Valley back in December of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hesperia Scorpions fell just short of the Arroyo Valley Hawks by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Scorpions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 319th, while the Hawks are ranked 115th).

Hesperia's goal came courtesy of Xzavier Murgo, who's now up to ten this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Hesperia and nudges their season record down to 6-4-2. As for Arroyo Valley, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3-1.

Hesperia has already played their next match, a 1-1 draw against Citrus Hill on the 3rd. As for Arroyo Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-1 victory against Banning on the 28th.
