Football Game Preview: Merino Rams vs. Rocky Ford Meloneers

The Merino Rams will square off against the Rocky Ford Meloneers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Merino put up the most points they have all season last Thursday. They claimed a resounding 66-20 victory over Lyons. Considering the Rams' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Rocky Ford didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Walsenburg on Friday, but they still walked away with a 44-38 win. The Meloneers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Merino better keep an eye on Juan Murillo. He was instrumental in Rocky Ford's win, throwing for 114 yards and a pair of TDs, while also rushing for 32 yards and one touchdown.

The win got Merino back to even at 2-2. As for Rocky Ford, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
