Basketball Recap: Thursday's Win Is California Lutheran's Tenth in Last 13 Outings

California Lutheran extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Tyler Treder. The California Lutheran C-Hawks took their matchup on Thursday with ease, bagging a 71-23 win over the La Sierra Academy Knights thanks in part to Treder, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 18 boards. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Joel Doebler, who posted six points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Despite the loss, La Sierra Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Braden Robinson put up ten points.

California Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points per game. As for La Sierra Academy, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

California Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 80-48 victory against Sherman Indian on the 31st. As for La Sierra Academy, they will head out to challenge United Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. La Sierra Academy is facing United Christian Academy at the right time seeing as United Christian Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
