Basketball Game Preview: Central Heights Blue Devils vs. Pollok Central Bulldogs

The Central Heights Blue Devils will challenge the Pollok Central Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Central Heights comes in on eight and Pollok Central on five.

Last Friday, Central Heights blew past Newton, posting a 73-13 win. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 715th, while the Eagles are ranked 1602nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Pollok Central posted their closest victory since December 6, 2024 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Pineywoods Community Academy 45-43.

Pollok Central has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 19-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Central Heights, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-15.

Central Heights didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Pollok Central in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 39-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central Heights since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
