Softball Recap: Mars Fightin' Planets vs. Knoch Knights
Mars extended their losing streak to seven on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-14. They lost 17-0 to the Knoch Knights. If the Fightin' Planets were looking for revenge after losing 11-0 to the Knights when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Mars saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Foltz, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
As for Knoch, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 16-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games.
On Knoch's side, Emersyn Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave Jones a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
In other batting news, Lindsey Wise was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Alena Tekely was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
As of now, neither Mars nor Knoch have any future games scheduled.
