With the Nebraska boys sub-district basketball tournaments for Classes B, C1, C2, D1 and D2 approaching next week, and district competition beginning for Class A later in the week, we have decided to take a look at which sub-districts could be the Waterloo for some very good Nebraska boys basketball teams in 2019-20. And we decided to share our findings with you, the fan.

Using the average MaxPreps power ranking for the teams assigned to each Sub-District, we determined that the Class B-5 Sub-District, featuring Top 10 teams Norris and Beatrice, is the toughest in Nebraska. The B-7 Sub-District and B-3 Sub-District rank second and third in strength respectively, while the B-4 Sub-District and C2-4 Sub-District round out the Top 5.

Classes B, C1 and C2 are all represented in this week's Top 10. Class A's district assignments have not been announced yet and Classes D1 and D2 were unable to launch a sub-district into the Top 10. However, the D1-3 and D2-2 Sub-Districts calculate to be the toughest in Nebraska's smallest classifications. When it comes to collective winning percentage, the C2-4 Sub-District takes the top spot of those sub-districts that are listed in this week's Top 10.

We did select a Class A game for this week's Top 10. While a regular-season game may not carry the same importance to some teams, as one of these tournaments does, it is a huge ball game to say the least. Having won six straight contests, No. 3 Omaha Central travels to No. 5 Omaha Westside Feb. 22. The Warriors, who fell to top-ranked Millard North on Jan. 24, have won seven straight basketball games since suffering that fifth loss of the season.

Below, listed under each sub-district is that sub-district's collective winning percentage and each school that will compete in that tournament. To the left of each school is its MaxPreps Class ranking, as of Tuesday, and its record through last weekend in parenthesis.
