Football Game Preview: Notre Dame vs. Webster County

Webster County have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They will take on Notre Dame at 7:00 PM. Coming off of a win even when the odds were against them, Webster County have to be feeling especially confident with the MaxPreps state rankings on their side for this one.

It was all tied up at the half for Webster County and Ritchie County last Friday, but Webster County stepped up in the second half. Webster County managed a somewhat close 28-22 win over Ritchie County. Junior Dawson Tharp, who rushed for 146 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in Webster County's success. That makes it three straight good games in a row from Tharp.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame lost to Parkersburg Catholic by a decisive 20-35 margin. This makes it the second defeat in a row for Notre Dame.

Webster County didn't have too much trouble with Notre Dame the last time the two teams met as they won 46-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Webster County since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
