Basketball Recap: Denmark-Olar Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 20-20 at halftime, Denmark-Olar was not quite South Pointe's equal in the second half on Thursday. The match between them and the South Pointe Stallions didn't end well, with the Denmark-Olar Vikings falling 54-38. The game marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Denmark-Olar still got an impressive performance from Terrence Hinton, who went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points and three steals. Hinton has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Goodman, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Ry'Darius Hill continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for South Pointe, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 15 boards. That's the most rebounds Hill has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was RJ Pickering Jr, who put up seven points in addition to five assists and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Denmark-Olar and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for South Pointe, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Denmark-Olar wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 43-40 win against Hampton County on the 23rd. As for South Pointe, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-45 defeat against Cardinal Newman on the 21st.
