Football Recap: Ogallala Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Ogallala's offense. They were dealt a 42-0 loss at the hands of the McCook Bison on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Bison are ranked 22nd).

Edan Cain threw for 45 yards on six of 13 attempts. Sawyer Smith was his top target, picking up 40 receiving yards.

Ogallala is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. As for McCook, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Coming up, Ogallala will take on Chase County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will be up against the Longhorns' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42.14 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for McCook, they will square off against Scottsbluff at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bearcats' defense has only allowed 7.7 points per game this season, so the Bison's offense will have their work cut out for them.
