Soccer Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

Heritage came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the South-Doyle Cherokees, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Heritage can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while South-Doyle are ranked 19th).

Heritage has also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's still a better percentage than their 3-15-1 record this season. As for South-Doyle, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-1-2.

Heritage does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South-Doyle, they will face off against Roane County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. South-Doyle's defense better be ready for this one: Roane County have averaged an impressive 3.2 goals per game this season.
