Softball Game Preview: Van Nuys Wolves vs. Grant Lancers

The Van Nuys Wolves will head out to take on the Grant Lancers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Van Nuys came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Sylmar, falling 16-1. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Wolves couldn't push the score so high this time.

Van Nuys saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was ARIEL PUENTE, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. Nadia Ubaldo also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Grant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 19-0 to North Hollywood.

Van Nuys' loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Grant, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Van Nuys suffered a grim 26-14 defeat to Grant in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
