Baseball Game Preview: NOVA HomeSchool Lions vs. Avalon Black Knights

The NOVA HomeSchool Lions will square off against the Avalon Black Knights at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. NOVA HomeSchool will be strutting in after a victory while Avalon will be coming in after a loss.

NOVA HomeSchool made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Fairfax HomeSchool, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lions blew past the Hawks 10-3 on Tuesday. Considering the Lions have won four matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Avalon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of DC International.

NOVA HomeSchool has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Avalon, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
