St. Mary's Prep waltzed into their matchup on Monday with 17 straight wins... but they left with 18. They blew past the St. Catherine of Siena Academy Athletes 3-0. The Eaglets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Athletes, too.

St. Mary's Prep never let St. Catherine of Siena Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-21, 28-26.

Leading St. Mary's Prep to victory were Lindsey Schwegman and Ava Merlo. Schwegman had nine digs and two aces, while Merlo had 18 digs and two aces. Schwegman is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season.

St. Mary's Prep's record now sits at 26-6-4. As for St. Catherine of Siena Academy, they moved to 15-9-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. St. Mary's Prep will take on Detroit Country Day at 6:30 p.m. on the 14th. As for St. Catherine of Siena Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Milford at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
