In their previous meeting, Cedar Ridge delivered Mayflower a punishing 41 - 20 defeat. The rematch, however, was a total reversal. One key standout for Mayflower was Deon Simmons, who ran for 327 yards and also punched in five touchdowns. This marked the 5th consecutive game in which Simmons had 100+ rushing yards.
Cedar Ridge dropped down to.500 with a 4-4 record. The win got Mayflower up to 8-0.
