Volleyball Recap: Marlborough Comes Up Short

If Marlborough was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Flintridge Sacred Heart on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Louisville Royals on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Royals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-16, 24-26, 25-21, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Marlborough still got an impressive performance from Tatawan Vongfak, who had 26 digs and three aces. Vongfak has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Schechter, who had 19 assists and three digs.

Marlborough's loss dropped their record down to 17-14. As for Louisville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-2.

Marlborough has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against La Canada on the 8th. As for Louisville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Immaculate Heart on the 9th.
