Softball Recap: West Jefferson Panthers vs. North Fremont Huskies

West Jefferson extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 2-11 in the process. They lost 18-7 to the North Fremont Huskies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 on Wednesday.

As for North Fremont, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. Considering they have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

For North Fremont's part, Grace Heiner was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5. Those six RBI gave Heiner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynnli Schultz, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Coming up, West Jefferson will face off against Teton at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Timberwolves have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups. As for North Fremont, they will challenge Firth at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
