High school softball rankings: Saint Francis of Northern California joins MaxPreps Top 25 after hot start

California will be a state that continually causes shakeups in the MaxPreps Top 25 national high school softball rankings all season as there is still no clear favorite.

Saint Francis (Mountain View, Calif.) has shown it doesn't rebuild, but reload. Texas A&M commit Kate Munnerlyn has 42 strikeouts in 24 innings, and is batting .462 with a home run. Freshman Jaime Oakland has 11 hits in 14 plate appearances. The Lancers jump into this week's rankings at No. 6.

Texas has five teams in the MaxPreps Top 25, including No. 2 Lake Creek (Montgomery, Texas). The Lions extended their win streak to 66 straight games. Barbers Hill (Mt. Belvieu, Texas) has also joined the top 5 after winning its ninth straight.
