Chevelle Bauman made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That double was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Taylor Shannon was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. She also put up a stolen base, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Rachel Paulhamus, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Muncy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Lewisburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 32nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Midd-West, falling 18-0.
Muncy's record is now 4-5. As for Lewisburg, their loss dropped their record down to 0-13.
Lewisburg's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Muncy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. It's a different story for Lewisburg, though, as they've only averaged .226. Will they be able to contain Muncy's hitters?
Everything went Muncy's way against Lewisburg in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Muncy made off with a 17-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
