Softball Recap: Pahrump Valley Trojans vs. Virgin Valley Bulldogs
Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Pahrump Valley couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Virgin Valley Bulldogs by a score of 5-4 on Friday. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 17-6.
Evalenne Armendariz put in work no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Armendariz was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI.
Armendariz wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mariah Gray, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Sunday Colon was another, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Pahrump Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 25-10. As for Virgin Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record this season.
Pahrump Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Virgin Valley, they have already played their next contest, a 14-9 loss against Sports Leadership & Management on the 9th.
