Preview: Morgan County Cougars vs. East Carter Raiders
The Morgan County Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the East Carter Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Morgan County is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Raiders in Kentucky (the Cougars are ranked 42nd, while the Raiders are ranked 176th).
Morgan County pushed their score all the way to 75 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 89-75 to Breathitt County. Morgan County has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Meanwhile, East Carter didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Comets on Friday, but they still walked away with a 54-48 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for East Carter.
Morgan County's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for East Carter, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season.
Morgan County strolled past the Raiders when the teams last played back in January by a score of 58-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Morgan County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
