Football Recap: Manchester Flying Dutchmen vs. Grass Lake Warriors

After flying high against East Jackson last Friday, Manchester came back down to earth. The Manchester Flying Dutchmen took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grass Lake Warriors on Friday. The Flying Dutchmen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Grass Lake's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brayden Lape, who threw for 447 yards and seven touchdowns, and also rushed for 38 yards. With that strong performance, Lape is now averaging an impressive 3.3 passing touchdowns per game. Bryant Cook was Lape's top target, picking up 211 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

Manchester's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Grass Lake, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-3.
