Football Game Preview: Pioneer Titans vs. Cerritos Dons + Official Tickets

The Pioneer Titans will take on the Cerritos Dons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pioneer will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Pioneer turned things around against Glenn on Thursday. They took down the Eagles 26-12. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 18, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, Cerritos won against West on October 2nd with 28 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. The Dons put the hurt on Artesia with a sharp 28-7 victory. The Dons haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Cerritos' win came from a few key players Pioneer will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Justin Sagun, who threw for 192 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 18 passes.

Cerritos didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Artesia to a completion percentage of just 36.8%. The Dons weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 61.1%.

Cerritos didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jordan Ju and Jacob Hoosac. Hoosac has been hot for a while, having also posted five or more total tackles the last 14 times he's played.

Pioneer's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Cerritos, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Pioneer was taken down by Cerritos 70-14 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Titans were down 36-14.
