Softball Recap: Riley Smith Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Madison

Monmouth Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 19-run drubbing they dealt Madison on Wednesday. The Mustangs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 19-0 shutout. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Monmouth Academy got a massive performance out of Riley Smith, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Isabella Lyons, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Monmouth Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
