Softball Recap: South Central Snags Fifth Win in Last Six Games

After only one run in their last game, South Central made sure to put some runs up on the board against Lucas on Thursday. The Trojans came out on top against the Cubs by a score of 15-11. With that victory, the Trojans brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Zaida Myers was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with four stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mayson Middaugh, who went 2-for-5 with four stolen bases and two runs.

South Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lucas only posted a batting average of .250.

South Central has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-15 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Lucas, they dropped their record down to 6-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

South Central has already played their next contest, a 13-6 loss against New London on the 16th. Lucas does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
