Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Sophie Farr and Maddy Benbow Lead Coginchaug Regional to Victory

Coginchaug Regional waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Wilcox RVT Wildcats with a sharp 58-37 win. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 21 points or more this season.

Coginchaug Regional was led to victory by Maddy Benbow and Sophie Farr. Benbow went 9 for 19 on her way to 22 points and six rebounds, while Farr posted 16 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. Farr's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Watson, who put up six points and eight boards.

Coginchaug Regional's victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coginchaug Regional will host Cromwell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wilcox RVT, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Abbott RVT at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
