Soccer Recap: Chippewa Falls Comes Up Short

Chippewa Falls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Menomonie Mustangs. If Chippewa Falls were looking for revenge after losing 4-1 to Menomonie when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Chippewa Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 2-8-1. As for Menomonie, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-4-1.

Coming up, Chippewa Falls will face off against Amery at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Menomonie, they will challenge Sparta at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Menomonie will be up against Sparta's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.9 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
