Recap: Gateway Charter Griffins vs. Marathon Dolphins
The Gateway Charter Griffins can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Marathon 24-21.
Chance Reeves had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 161 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Another player making a difference was Tavian Villarreal, who rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown.
Gateway Charter's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Marathon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
Gateway Charter will head out on the road to face off against Oxbridge Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marathon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Palmer Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
