Soccer Game Preview: Battlefield vs. Freedom

The Battlefield Bobcats will square off against the Freedom Eagles on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Battlefield comes in on five and Freedom on three.

Battlefield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Mountain View 3-2. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Battlefield were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Freedom kept a clean sheet against Colonial Forge on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Colonial Forge. The result was nothing new for Freedom, who have now won nine matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Battlefield's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those four contests. As for Freedom, their win bumped their record up to 13-2-2.

Battlefield skirted past Freedom 2-1 in their previous matchup back in May. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
