East Valley Athletes for Christ had won five straight games and Janie Fender did her part to make it six on Thursday. The Eagles really took it to the Heritage Academy Heroes for the full four quarters, racking up a 46-5 win for which the team can thank Fender, who shot 55% from the field en route to 13 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game.

Kati Loy was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

East Valley Athletes for Christ's record now sits at 6-1. As for Heritage Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coming up, East Valley Athletes for Christ will be home for the holidays to greet Ridgeline Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Heritage Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against South Pointe at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
