Volleyball Recap: Bluefield Comes Up Short

Bluefield lost against Montcalm back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Beavers fell just short of the Generals by a score of 3-2. The Beavers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Bluefield actually scored more points across those five sets (106-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-20, 22-25, 15-25, 15-13.

Jaleigh Smith paced Bluefield's offense, picking up 14 kills. Smith got some help from Faye Jackson and her 21 assists. Jackson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Bluefield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14-1. As for Montcalm, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.

Bluefield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Graham on the 1st. As for Montcalm, they will head out on the road to take on Summers County at 6:00 p.m. on the 8th.
