Softball Recap: Houston County Takes a Loss

Houston County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 17-7 to the Daleville Warhawks. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warhawks earlier this season, when they won 20-17.

Aaniyah Barber was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Roxi Atwood, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Houston County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Daleville, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-13.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Houston County will face off against Ariton at 11:30 a.m. on Monday. As for Daleville, they will head out on the road to challenge Dale County at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Warhawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
