Lamar won the last time they faced Buena Vista and things went their way on Friday too. The Lamar Thunder blew past the Buena Vista Demons 58-32. The Thunder have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Lamar was led to victory by Gabrian Jacobs and Jacob Dunning. Jacobs dropped a double-double with 14 points and 14 boards, while Dunning went 7-for-12 en route to 18 points. Those 14 rebounds gave Jacobs a new career-high. Braxen Shelton was another key player, putting up nine points.

Lamar was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 assists per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.4.

Despite the defeat, Buena Vista saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Joe Bearss posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Bearss, who put up eight points.

Lamar moved to 16-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Buena Vista, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-8.

Lamar has already played their next game, a 67-65 loss against Salida on the 1st. As for Buena Vista, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 46-33 defeat against Manitou Springs on the 1st.
