Soccer Game Preview: Hanna vs. Veterans Memorial

The Hanna Golden Eagles will take on the Veterans Memorial Chargers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Veterans Memorial took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Hanna, who comes in off a win.

Hanna headed into their last contest having not scored more than one goal for six straight, but San Benito let them put that streak behind them. Hanna put the hurt on San Benito with a sharp 7-3 victory on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Golden Eagles' most dominant win of the season so far.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Veterans Memorial was not quite Harlingen's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 401st, while the Cardinals are ranked 108th).

Hanna's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three games. As for Veterans Memorial, they now have a losing record at 3-4-2.
