Volleyball Recap: South Caldwell Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If South Caldwell was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of St. Stephens last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans fell 3-1 to the Alexander Central Cougars on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-15, 23-25, 25-21.

Miley Blair paced South Caldwell's offense, picking up eight kills. Blair got some help from Riley Powell and her 19 assists. Finally, Emma Bumgarner kept South Caldwell's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

South Caldwell's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Alexander Central, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Caldwell will welcome McDowell at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Alexander Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Stephens at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
