Baxter Neal was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Elias Gonzales and Jagger Lewis did most of the damage at the plate: Gonzales went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Lewis got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double was Gonzales' first of the season. Another player making a difference was Noah Ellis, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Haskell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mounds only posted an OBP of .200.
Meanwhile, Summit Christian Academy got the win against Cleveland on Saturday by a conclusive 12-1.
Jax Bowley was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Summit Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Antle, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Haskell's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Summit Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Everything went Haskell's way against Summit Christian Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Haskell made off with a 13-5 win. Will the Haymakers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
