Softball Recap: Foothill Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Foothill and Legacy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Foothill had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Longhorns by a score of 12-11. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Longhorns apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2019.

Hailey Gilbertson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Miller, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Foothill now has a losing record of 10-11-1. As for Legacy, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-6.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Foothill will be playing in front of their home fans against Clark at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Legacy, they will square off against Doral Academy Red Rock at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Dragons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Longhorns' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
