Softball Recap: Prattville Comes Up Short

Prattville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Apollo Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Lions have suffered since April 22, 2024.

Brooklynn Johnson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Even though they lost, Prattville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in six consecutive matches.

Prattville's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Apollo, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Coming up, Prattville will take on Daphne in a tournament on Saturday. Daphne is coming into the game with three straight wins on the road, so Prattville will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Apollo, they will venture away from home to square off against St. Paul's Episcopal at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday.
