Basketball Recap: Boerne-Champion Takes a Loss

Boerne-Champion lost against Alamo Heights back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Boerne-Champion Chargers fell 64-52 to the Alamo Heights Mules. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Berkley Hart was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 25 points, 12 rebounds, and ten blocks for Alamo Heights. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Hart has scored at least a third of Alamo Heights' points. Another player making a difference was Megan Hawkins, who went 6 for 12 on her way to 14 points along with five boards and four steals.

Boerne-Champion's loss dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Alamo Heights, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-15.

Boerne-Champion and Alamo Heights could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Boerne-Champion will square off against Pieper at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th down 334 places (370 vs. 36). Similarly, Alamo Heights (ranked 453rd) will meet Boerne (ranked 128th) at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th.
